- Phân bổ thời gian không hợp lý: Nói quá nhiều về phương án chọn, không kịp phân tích 2 phương án còn lại.
Giải pháp: Chia thời gian theo tỷ lệ: Mở đầu trong 15 giây, giải thích lý do chọn trong 60 giây (2 ý chính); lý do loại 2 cái kia trong 30 giây (so sánh nhanh), kết thúc lại trong 15 giây.

Nên nói bao nhiêu từ là đủ?
Nên nói khoảng 150 – 200 từ, kéo dài từ 1 phút 40 giây đến 1 phút 50 giây (trên tổng 2 phút quy định). Quan trọng nhất là bạn phải nói cho đến khi giám khảo yêu cầu dừng lại hoặc gần hết thời gian, đảm bảo đủ 3 phần: Lựa chọn – Lý do chọn – Lý do loại 2 phương án còn lại.
Có được học thuộc bài mẫu không?
Không nên học thuộc lòng toàn bộ bài mẫu khi vào phòng thi. Giám khảo sẽ trừ điểm nếu phát hiện bạn đang “đọc thuộc lòng” (ngữ điệu không tự nhiên). Nếu gặp đề lạ, bạn sẽ dễ bị lúng túng.
Nói sai ngữ pháp có bị trượt không?
KHÔNG, bạn sẽ không bị trượt chỉ vì vài lỗi ngữ pháp. VSTEP chấm điểm dựa trên 4 tiêu chí: Phát âm, Từ vựng, Ngữ pháp và Sự trôi chảy. Ngữ pháp chỉ chiếm 25% tổng điểm.
Thi Speaking B1 và Speaking B2 khác nhau thế nào?
Speaking B1 chỉ cần nêu lý do đơn giản cho lựa chọn của mình; Speaking B2 bắt buộc phải so sánh, đối chiếu và giải thích lý do loại bỏ các phương án còn lại.
Speaking B1 dùng câu đơn là chính; Speaking B2 cần sử dụng được câu phức (câu điều kiện, mệnh đề quan hệ) một cách tự nhiên.
